Company Overview:

At Relativity Space, we have two audacious goals: to build the next great commercial launch company with Terran R and to become America's leading force in additive manufacturing innovation. Both contribute to our long-term vision of creating humanity’s industrial base on Mars, paving the way for interplanetary life to expand the possibilities of the human experience. This journey begins right here on Earth – where we design, build, and fly rockets to deliver customer payloads to orbit. Terran R, our medium-to-heavy lift reusable rocket, fulfills the growing demand for launch capacity, thanks to our iterative approach that accelerates design, testing, and development while minimizing costs. While our groundbreaking research and development in 3D printing pushes the boundaries of large-scale additive manufacturing.

Your journey with us is more than just a job – it’s an opportunity to shape the future of aerospace technology, additive manufacturing, and the human experience alongside a community of passionate, creative individuals. Join us on this extraordinary journey, as we work together to transform our vision into reality.

About the Team:

The Robotics Software Engineering Team is building a cooperative robotic platform that extends our large-scale additive manufacturing systems into new environments and industries. We prioritize performance, simplicity, simulation/testing, and reusability, building cohesive interfaces with every piece of equipment we use to unlock a revolutionary manufacturing technology.

About the Role:

Lead the development and optimization of simulation environments for robotics applications, focusing on the creation of realistic models, advanced simulations, and integration of simulation tools to enhance the design, testing, and validation of robotic systems., focusing on creating sophisticated digital twins using technology like NVIDIA Omniverse and Isaac Sim to streamline the development of new capabilities by integrating our platform into the synthetic environment.

About You:

  • Education: BS or MS in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with NVIDIA Omniverse, Isaac Sim, and familiarity with OpenUSD for building cohesive and interoperable simulation environments.
  • Skills in generating and utilizing synthetic data to train robot motion and AI models, improving accuracy and efficiency.
  • 5+ years experience developing large C++ and/or Rust projects,
  • Experience developing high-performance 3D graphics software for simulated environments
  • Experience with geometry libraries such as CGAL, computer vision libraries such as OpenCV
  • Demonstrated ability to process point clouds, 3D meshes and NURBs
  • Ability to develop hardware-accelerated software using fragment and vertex shaders in OpenGL, CUDA, or similar
  • Project leadership experience: Ability to lead projects, manage timelines, and collaborate across departments to integrate simulation technologies into business processes

Nice to haves but not required:

  • Understanding of how to apply machine learning techniques within simulation environments to optimize manufacturing and inspection processes.
