What is the role like?

Our team is responsible for developing the OP group's Developer Experience by bringing a data-based vision into the process. We source product development data from various sources and integrate it to create metrics or provide data for others to use. 

In your role, you will collaborate with Developers, Architects, Product Owners, Solution Analysts, Tech Leads, and other stakeholders to develop technical solutions, refine current solutions, and shape the future of the Engineering Data platform. This involves tasks ranging from solution planning to hands-on development. 

As a Senior/Lead Developer you will lead by example and work with the architect to show the direction in which the development of this area is heading. The role requires constant adaptation and improvement in response to changes in the platform environment and requirements.

What do we expect from you?

You have several years of experience in software development and a developer mindset. You are interested in understanding both technical and business requirements of engineering data customers. You will process the resulting work items ensuring the success of the team with building high quality data products. You are used to work with cloud platforms and capable of bringing the best solutions into practice.

This is not in a managerial role, but you are leading and showing the direction of development through your actions. We expect good interpersonal skills in English, and the ability to respond to problems quickly. Contacting other people to find and share information is something that you excel at. We are looking for a person that does not seek quick wins but takes on complex challenges and turns them into long-term solutions. You are a team player and support others to strive for their best.

You have knowledge and understanding about agile software development in general. To be successful in this role, you should already be equipped with hands-on requirements engineering and solution specification experience and prior experience with following technologies and patterns or similar alternatives:

-  Programming languages needed for data and ETLs
-  Experience with data modeling, SQL and databases
-  Experience with non-functional optimization of technical solutions
-  Experience of working in data driven organizations and corresponding leadership practices
-  Process knowledge about developing and operating complex software system(s)
-  Knowledge about modern DevOps tools, practices, and pipelines
-  Knowledge about cloud-based development e.g., Azure or AWS
-  Analytics- and reporting tools such as Power BI platform is a plus
