About Your Team:

We seek a Data Scientist to develop, maintain, and enhance quantitative models for anomalous activity detection and AML surveillance.

What will be your responsibilities within IBKR: 

  • Help design, calibrate and enhance the firm's AML and financial crime-related surveillance reports.
  • Identify patterns of potentially suspicious activity through a review of client data.
  • Apply statistical analysis to calibrate the firm's surveillance alerts to more accurately identify potentially suspicious activity for review by AML analysts.
  • Refine business requirements and develop programming specifications from them.

 Which skills are required:

  • Experience with AML and BSA regulations
  • Master's or PhD in Statistics or a Quantitative Field
  • Python programming experience 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with AML or financial transaction modeling
  • Knowledge of financial markets, preferably in cashiering surveillance
  • Understanding of databases and SQL
