We are looking for highly skilled Data Engineers to join our team. LiveEO leverages satellite imagery and artificial intelligence to provide actionable insights that drive decision-making across various industries. An example is the precise detection of trees and their height in high resolution imagery to provide our customers with actionable insights in order to protect their power grid from tree fall. 
The focus of the role is on building robust and automated data pipelines around our geospatial processes that handle terabytes of data. Our pipelines involve a wide-range of topics such as efficient tiling strategies, merging of different data sources and challenges around various types of digital elevation models (incl. disparity matching & offset-correction). Usually these processes serve as pre- or post-processing steps for our Machine Learning models. 

Your challenge

• Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines that efficiently handle large amounts of rasterdata.
• Orchestrate and automate data workflows using orchestration engines such as Prefect.
• Engage in continuous improvement of the data processing frameworks by addressing challenges associated with digital elevation models, including disparity matching and offset-correctin.
• As part of a growing team, take on a mentorship role to support and guide less experienced engineers.

Your profile

• Experience in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, with a strong background in handling large datasets, particularly raster data.
• Experience with Python with a strong emphasis on writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a willingness to dive into and navigate multiple topics, driving innovation to improve data quality and process efficiency.
• Understanding of geospatial data applications and processing techniques is a big plus.
