Our team and what we’ll accomplish together
You are an experienced technologist who can drive thought leadership and execution. You must have data engineering and/or data science experience leveraging Python and CI/CD environments, as well as experience with data solutions such as Google BigQuery and relational databases.
The Martech and Platform team, as part of TELUS Consumer Solutions Campaign Management, is responsible for transforming the marketing technology (martech) stacks used for marketing and campaigns. Together we can evolve our technology to enable real-time and orchestrated omni-channel communications to ensure that our customers receive the most relevant messaging to them, which will also drive the desired business outcomes.
What you’ll do
- Help build and maintain a scalable, cloud-based marketing infrastructure that offers a best-in-class experience for customers as well as internal stakeholders
- Enable robust data pipelines to enable both batch and real-time campaigns
- Foster continuous systems transformation as we migrate infrastructure and applications to the Cloud
- Build expertise in the team across data platforms in the cloud
- Manage our cloud assets with best-in-class data security and privacy
- Implement automation and monitoring tools through a test-driven approach and mindset
- Drive the adoption of new cloud technologies to further advance TELUS’ data transformation strategy
Qualifications
What you bring
- 10+ years of experience of IT platform implementation in a technical capacity
- 5+ years’ of experience with cloud architectures and platforms: GCP, Amazon or Azure (GCP gives you an edge!), leveraging CI/CD technologies, such as GitHub, and Infrastructure-as-Code standards, such as Terraform or Pulumi
- Expert understanding of data warehouses/cloud architectures and ETL processes, leveraging Spark, Airflow, Google Workflows or similar data pipeline technologies
- Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases and query authoring (SQL), as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
- Experience with Python and software engineering best practices
- Proven track record in leading data platform projects
- Ready to work in new and challenging work environments

Great-to-haves
- Post-graduate education in Data Engineering, Cloud DevOps or Advanced Analytics
- Machine learning and data science knowledge
