About the Role
 

.You will be working on our Spark clusters, building workflows on top of Elsevier’s core data that include scientific publications. Collaborate with product managers, NLP experts, Lead Data Scientists and Domain Experts to build high value
outcome from Elsevier content.
 

Responsibilities
 

  • Working knowledge of SQL and Python for data science (ex: Pyspark, Pandas, Jupyter, Numpy, visualisation libraries)

  • Working knowledge of big data technologies within the Hadoop ecosystem, in particular SPARK, ETL and data pipelines

  • Understanding of statistics for data analytics (ex: confidence levels, tests).

  • Working experience of Machine learning (ex: Large Language Models) and libraries (ex: Keras, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).

  • Collecting data, data analysis, model development,
    defining quality metrics, quality assessment of models and regular
    presentations to stakeholders.


Requirements
 

  • Have 2 years of relevant applied experience and Msc/MTech in the field of Machine Learning, computer science, data science

  • Have knowledge of Python, able to write unit tests and
    production ready code adhering to best practices and
    object-oriented programming principles.

  • Be a very good communicator and presentation skills,
    in particular proven ability to convey data science concepts effectively to non-technical audiences.
