We are currently looking for Associate Machine Learning Engineer to join our team and support the development of end-to-end analytics solutions on top of the Ascend Sandbox platform in EMEA & APAC region.
Job Description
What you will be doing:
- Development, maintenance and support of advanced analytical solutions for data analysis, predictive model development and ad-hoc analysis implementing accurate and reliable code.
- Prepare and conduct tests of the automated solutions.
- Build and update pipelines for automation of processes.
- Working together with data scientists on the development of machine learning pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and model training.
- Continuously work on identifying opportunities for automation, supporting his/her ideas with cost/benefit analyses justifying the need both internally within the team and towards external stakeholders.
- Produce technical documentation in compliance with internal best practices.
Qualifications
We are looking for you to bring:
- A degree (BSc level) in a numerical discipline, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics and econometrics, Physics, etc.
- 3+ years of working experience in Python – preferably both Python’s own syntax but also some of its main analytical packages (such as pandas, numpy, sklearn)
- Ability to write Python code/ Core Python expertise.
- Good knowledge of OOP principles, data structures, algorithms & design patterns
- Flexible and adaptable to learn and understand new technologies.
- A keen eye for detail, good at spotting problems and quickly proposing solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (fluency in English)
Any of the following abilities and skills will be considered an advantage:
- Knowledge and appreciation of agile development methodologies and techniques
- Knowledge of good software development practices (Test-driven Development, Clean Code, Refactoring, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of statistics and of measures used for evaluating performance of Machine Learning models, such as precision, recall, etc.
- Basic understanding of Data Science concepts such as overfitting, cross-validation, test-vs-train split, etc.
- Experience with CI/CD process development
