Principal Data Engineer leverages strong experience in data architecture design, backend coding (mostly SQL), and front-end visualizations to prototype, iterate, and deploy analytical solutions focused on answering specific business questions. This position requires experience and working knowledge in the healthcare delivery space. The successful candidate would take initiative by serving as an engineering lead, defining tasks, and delegating/coordinating the work among other team members. Being a collaborator and willingness to mentor other members of the team is an important attribute. Furthermore, Principal Data Engineer works closely with Engineering Manager, Product Managers, Business Stakeholders, and other subject matter experts to understand business needs and requirements, assess the impacts of those needs, and translate them to data-driven and data-centric enterprise solutions. Principal Data Engineers must be comfortable navigating complex problems and ambiguous business requirements. Principal Data Engineer will deploy and propagate standard practices in development for data engineering, data/report modeling, data architecture, efficiency in product design, visualization efficiency, requirements gathering, business analysis and work with various technical and non-technical stakeholders to adopt such standard processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, Informatics or equivalent educ/experience
  • Master's Degree: MBA or STEM area of study or equivalent educ/experience
    • 6 years of related experience
  • 8 years related experience in data, analytics, and/or Business Intelligence (BI) tools and technologies experience with direct Enterprise Production ownership and publishing
  • 8 years SQL, Cloud, Visual Studio, ADO, Power BI, Tableau, or other development, reporting or coordination/collaboration tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Within 6 months (180 days) of hire: Electronic Medical Records (EMR) proficiency or certification (If applicable)
  • 8 years strong organizational, presentation, and writing skills and ability to successfully interact across functions at all levels of an organization and with customers
  • 8 years in depth experience with developing data and product roadmaps & functional specifications, UAT, Customer support, launching new products, conducting customer research, and facilitating user testing
  • 5 years experience in the Healthcare Industry. Preferably in relevant Electronic Medical Records (EMR) certifications, where applicable

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
