OVERVIEW Full-time/Permanent Employee  Location: Remote 
The company is looking for a Data Scientist to analyze our data and identify the most relevant features for various prediction outcomes (e.g., delivery predictions). This candidate will also develop and implement machine learning models using appropriate techniques and frameworks. The candidate will preprocess and normalize data to ensure optimal performance and accuracy of the models. The candidate will train and test the models using various metrics and methods along with visualizing and interpreting the results and providing feedback and recommendations for improvement. They will then be able to iterate and refine the models until satisfactory results are achieved. They should also be able to present and document the findings and the methodology in a clear and concise manner. The candidate will need to create endpoints that can be integrated with our existing systems and applications and explore the possibility of using optical character recognition for future enhancements. 
The proposed salary range for this position is $82,500-$131,280. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Involved in the analysis of unstructured and semi-structured data, including latent semantic indexing (LSI), entity identification and tagging, complex event processing (CEP), and the application of analysis algorithms on distributed, clustered, and cloud-based high-performance infrastructures.   
  • Exercises creativity in applying support of high-value use cases visualized through multi-dimensional interfaces.   
  • Handle processing and index requests against high-volume collections of data and high-velocity data streams.   

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Clearance: Eligible to obtain a Secret Level Clearance
  • Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 2 to 4 years of related experience. Masters Preferred.  
  • Substitution: Additional 2 years of experience without a Bachelor’s Degree.

KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA)

  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and multi-tasking skills  
  • Strong oral and written communication skills  
  • Requires strong technical and computational skills - engineering, physics, mathematics, coupled with the ability to code design, develop, and deploy sophisticated applications using advanced unstructured and semi-structured data analysis techniques and utilizing high-performance computing environments.   
  • Ability to utilize advanced tools and computational skills to interpret, connect, predict and make discoveries in complex/big data and deliver recommendations for business and analytic decisions.    
  • Experience with software development, data transport and transformation APIs and technologies such as JSON, XML, XSLT, JDBC, SOAP, GraphQL and REST.   
  • Experience with Cloud-based data analysis tools such as Hadoop and Mahout, Acumulo, Hive, Impala, Pig, and similar.  
  • Experience with visual analytic tools like Microsoft Pivot, Palantir, or Visual Analytics. 
  • Experience with open-source textual processing such as Lucene, Sphinx, Nutch or Solr.   
  • Experience with entity extraction and conceptual search technologies such as LSI, LDA, etc.   
  • Experience with machine learning, algorithm analysis, and data clustering. 

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • OCR Experience   
  • Use Tesseract (or similar tool) to extract data from 2-dimensional drawings   
  • Develop on an existing Python (Flask) Application to provide automated capabilities as part of a small agile team   
  • Wear many hats everyday (developer, tester, help desk, teacher, designer, etc.)   
  • Manage AWS resources for the team   
  • Build containers efficiently  
  • Willing to learn something new.  
  • Problem solver, critical thinker.  
  • Prefer experience with Digital.ai products  
  • Familiar with operating in agile scrum team
