The Health AI team is at the forefront of machine learning and health science at Apple. We are a close-knit team of highly accomplished, deeply technical research scientists and machine learning engineers focused on delivering innovative technologies that impact millions of users. We are looking for an applied ML engineer passionate about solving real-world problems in the health domain that make a difference in our customers' lives.
Key Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning as applied to large-scale datasets
- Proficiency developing large scale models using modern machine learning packages (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, Jax)
- Strong background in representation models, multi-modal models, self-supervised learning
- Experience processing large-scale data sets using systems such as Spark, Hadoop, etc.
- Passionate about applying machine learning methods to deliver end-user experiences in health space
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Description
In this role, you will use your skills and experience in state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning to design, implement and evaluate new machine learning models and algorithms to solve challenging problems involving unique data and objectives. You will have the opportunity to explore and develop foundational AI technologies. The ability to substantially improve model performance from a prototype by leveraging novel architectures, optimizing hyper-parameters or exploring data augmentation techniques is key. The successful candidate should also possess strong engineering skills and the ability to set up flexible data pipelines, modeling, evaluation and analysis platforms to successfully transform research prototypes to production quality features.
Education & Experience
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field, and 3+ years of relevant industry experience with a track record of successful projects.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $131,500.00 and $243,300.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
